Standards & Specifications
The alternators can be delivered according to all known international standards (e.g. ÖVE, VDE, BS, IEC, etc.), according to ship classifications (e.g. GL, ABS, DNV, BV, LRS, USSR, RINA, etc.), according to the different MIL-standards, as well as other standards upon request.
All synchronous alternators are designed as rotating-field machines of the brushless type. The stator is installed in a robust, welded housing and is protected against torsion. The rotor, which has damper winding as a standard feature, and the exciter rotor are shrink fitted onto the shaft and are additionally equipped with wedge. The three-phase ecxiter machine is designed as an overhung-type alternator and is mounted in the B-side end-shield.
A precisely dimensioned ventilator is mounted on the drive-end of the alternator. For SG2 to SG6 frame sizes, a cast aluminium fan is used, which is working each rotation direction. For SG6 to SG1 frame sizes, a direction dependent steel sheet construction is used, which is torsional vibration resistant, highly efficient and has minimum noise levels.
The terminal boards are generously dimensioned and allow the installation of current transformers and devices, as well as easy connection to the alternator. The cable inlet is sealed by a blind plate, which can be equipped with cable glands or PG-screw connections as a design extra. The terminal boards are 4-wire in standard design but can also be delivered in 6-wire or multi-wire design.
Cooling & Protection
Water/air heat exchanger with closed circuit cooling according IC 81 is also available. Standard designed alternators are produced in enclosure IP 21 resp. in IP 23, according to DIN 40050 and IEC 34-5. On request enclosures up to IP 54 and air ducts or filters for the air inlet and outlets are possible.
